Eating Around Two-a-Day Training Sessions
Training twice in one day — common in preseason camps or dedicated build phases — leaves a shorter window between sessions to eat, digest, and partially recover. The main goal shifts from "one well-planned meal" to making sure carbohydrate and fluid stores are topped up as quickly as practical after the first session.
A real, practical approach: eat a carbohydrate-and-protein-containing snack or small meal within roughly 30-60 minutes after the first session, even if a full meal isn't possible in that window. Continue rehydrating steadily between sessions rather than trying to drink a large volume all at once right before session two.
If the gap between sessions is under 3-4 hours, favor familiar, easily digested foods over anything heavy, high-fat, or high-fiber, which can sit uncomfortably during the second session.
